Employee creativity is effectively boosted by having the right working conditions. This was the verdict reached by a research project dealing with occupational health. What matters is communication, teamwork, a variety of tasks and responsibility; but above all, enjoying one’s work and feeling at home in the office. In short, what matters is optimally designing office space so as to create a place where people are able to realise their full potential.

The Place 2.5 furnishing concept from Sedus serves precisely this purpose – creating stimulating office worlds. It is based on a long-term study conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute and aims to turn office working into an inspiring experience. Sedus Stoll AG has made this its mission. The quality of a workplace is determined, on the one hand, by ergonomic and functional furniture; however, also of key importance is the ambience created using light, acoustics, climate and colours. Everything is focused on making the office experience genuinely rewarding – both for the good of the business and the employees.

Now Sedus has taken this concept a step further by teaming up with the HAGSTOTZ ITM research institute to develop the Office Check. This is designed to flag up how members of staff and management feel about the offices they work in, what is important to them, and where there is potential for improvement. The evaluation entails comparing different business sectors and different sizes and types of company. Furthermore, the results for your company can be compared with the overall results from all of the companies surveyed.
